THE ACCESS DESK

A clearer case file for more detectives

Accessibility is part of a fair mystery, not an optional extra scene.

Our approach

We aim to make Jasoos usable with a keyboard, readable at different sizes, understandable without colour alone, and comfortable for people who prefer less motion. The only difficult thing should be the mystery, not a smudged classifieds line. We are still improving; not every part of the service meets every accessibility standard.

Reader tools

  • A visible skip link takes keyboard users to the main content.
  • Interactive controls have focus indicators and use keyboard-accessible native controls.
  • Deduction marks use distinct shapes and spoken labels, not colour alone.
  • The layout adapts from small screens to wide screens without document-level horizontal scrolling.
  • Reduced-motion preferences remove page transitions.
  • Paper and pencil sounds are off by default and require an explicit choice.
  • The installable shell can cache public pages for offline fallback while leaving live API traffic network-only.
  • Legal and help pages use a table of contents, clear headings, and print-friendly styles.

Wellbeing controls

These controls affect reminder nudges and quiet-hours handling on this device only. They do not change puzzle logic, scoring, or account data.

Default quiet hours currently run from 21:00 to 08:00.

Pause reminder nudges

Break reminders follow the current shell default of every 30 minutes when that guardrail is active.

Report a barrier

If a task is difficult, inaccessible, or unclear, email support@jasoos.me with “Accessibility feedback” in the subject. Tell us the page, your device, browser, or assistive technology if you wish, and what would have helped.
