REPORT: Fort, 1968 — A survey map reached a small archive folded but without its tube. A draughtsman, archivist, courier and clerk worked between the map room, catalogue desk, stair landing and loading bay with a scale rule, index tray, tube cap and delivery chit. The morning register records each stop. The desk adds one line for the record: the Delivery chit is the item under enquiry, and its keeper that evening owes the desk the first answer.
